The stables represented by Pegasus Farms,
with a maximum of 20 horses in training per year,
have accumulated around € 12 million gains in France races
between 2004 and 2014 in both disciplines.

Since Pegasus Farms was founded by Hervé Barjot in 2002, its clients have acquired, bred or sold first class racehorses both over the falt and in jumps racing.

The 20 max horses in training per year it managed accumulated earlings of nearly €12m on French racecourses between 2010 and 2014 in both codes. The same horses posted a place (1st to 3rd) strike rate of 55 to 76% every year.

The success of Pegasus clients and partners is steady and the earnings in racing, excluding returns of sales, have exceeded the maintenance costs.

At most International sales in the World, thanks to his experience in France (at the family stud farm, Haras du Gué Foulon, and five years as manager at the Haras des Capucines), in Ireland (Ardenode Stud/Coolmore), the USA and Australia (Coolmore), Hervé was able to build up successful racing stables and breeding operations from scratch.

Hervé is also an expert when it comes to pick up rare individuals that bring large rewards. French Gold Cup triple winner Mid Dancer was purchased for €100,000 and became the richest French jumper ever with over €3.3m in earnings and 16 Group wins.

Thewayyouare, now a sire, was sold privately by Pegasus Farms for about €15m at the end of his rookie season, that is a bit more than a year after his purchase for €250,000. Pegasus also found a very rewarding yearling when Whipper was bought for €5,000. The colt, now a successful sire too, went on to win everyone of the three Gr1s open to colts at the Deauville Summer meeting, the French Saratoga.

Pegasus Farms also purchased the dam of Electrocutionist before he won the richest race in the World, the Dubai World Cup, allowing the partners to sell the most expensive weanling ever in the States for €2.7m.

Breeding and selling can become an important part of the game in horseracing if you choose to follow that road, as it is probably the most exciting and rewarding sides of the business. Hervé is here to share with you his expertise in mating, breeding techniques and markets.
